delayed
people running talking
gettingcoffee
what is it about an airport
in the morning?
familiestrying desperately
not to lose each other
others jump aplane to lose everyone
loved ones united ripped away
allbefore 9 a.m.
delayed
I sit and watch intently
themaniac scene of which I am a part
waiting for my flight
my dramato unfold
overlooking the field of air-bound ships
helps passthe time
a translucent steam rises from the asphalt
envelopingthe colossal masses
of metal and windresistance
delayed
inside the routinecontinues
children run up and down escalators
women bathe in thebathroom sinks
masses of eyes stare blankly
up at green andblack screens
if they gaze long enough
maybe things willchange
departed
