Summary:

Juliet Capulet is just your average teenage girl until a chance meeting at a community dance changes her life forever. She meets Romeo Montague, who immediately starts stalking her, claiming they are meant to be together. For Juliet, this is just too much; she calls the police. How did such a story inspire the great William Shakespeare? It's not how you think!

This is awesome! I love the 'mysterious stranger'! Just a thought I do have for him though, is that I think you could have gave him a bit more of a conclusion. Sure we can guess who he is, but I reckon it could've been extended a bit. Otherwise it was brillaint!

Thank you!  But that's definitely wishful thinking.

Lolol awesome job! You've got to make this into a movie! Or sell the story to a filmmaking company or SOMETHING because the world needs to see this!!!

I had to read Romeo and Juliet in school, and since I am not big on that kind of romance, I didn't like it very much. Reading this parody made me laugh so hard! It made my day.

Thank you!  It helps that 'Romeo and Juliet' is such a cultural phenomenon that everyone knows the basic plot.

I meant your thing was funny. The only way mine was funny was if you actually read the play. I've never read Romeo and Juliet, but this was great.

Reading this reminded me of when I had to take Shakespeare's The Taming Of The Shrew and rewrite it in the modern world a few months ago. I should put it up. It was so funny; in my taming of the shrew, no one ended up in a high speed chase. (Drat!) :D

I forgot to mention that this was my first piece ever on Teen Ink.  A Letter to my Sister's Future Boyfriend was part of my much later work.

Ah, okay. As long as you know it's unrealistic.

And, yeah. Reading or listening to something really is the best way to learn it (besides teaching it).

Obviously, the cop coming and initiating a car chase was meant to be over the top, as most parodies are.  I know it wouldn't happen like that.

As for my Old English, it's not real Old English.  It's just what I've picked up from movies and such.

I've only read the first chapter so far, but it's terrific. I only needed to read the first paragraph to be hooked. I liked the references to your other story "A Letter to my Sister's Future Boyfriend". Or was it the other way around? I can't tell which you wrote first.

I just have one criticism for this Chapter. I found it unrealistic that the police would come just because Juliet claimed there was a boy following her around. They wouldn't take a call like that very seriously, and I doubt they would arrive so quickly if, for some strange reason, they did respond to it. Also, following a girl into a women's bathroom is hardly an offence a cop would pull his gun for, and definitely not one worth a 150 km/h car chase.

Despite that, so far your story is really great. It's impressive how well you can write in old English. I wish I could, too. How did you learn to do that? I also like the humour you bring to the story. Great job!

Thank you!  Cat was my second-favourite character to write.
