"One day there will be a chance that you will say that you love one person and really mean it, but every day one person is at least loving you now." - Me

I don't understand why most people in the world don't like people of the same sex to be in a relationship. I'm bisexual myself and people come up to me and start critizing me because i am, but they dont understand that I'm special in my own way just like other ppl, no matter who they are.

Where I live the main population is gay, lesbian and bi people. In front of my school there are even people writing signs saying "God hates America and Fags are not welcomed here!" I am getting so sick of it! This is making us not want to come out and actually be us.

The government has no right to make laws saying that gays can not be married. God and government does not mix people! Get it straight! Some of yur friends might actually be gay, lesbian or bi, and would u not be there friend because of it? If you would, then you are messed up and not worthy of their friendship.

Because if you want people to respect you, you have to respect others. You get what you give, buddy. It's sort of like the law of attraction, you know? And I apologize if I came of that way to you, but my attitude is most certainly not that you should comply to my wishes or I will beat you. Yes, I have freedom of speech too, but that doesn't make me want to speak rudely to people. To each his own. Everyone has their own opinion. I respect yours, so please respect mine, and stop putting people down. Thank you, Seraphim_Of_Truth.

Its true. Look in the bible and it will say that. But am I gonna force it on you? No. That's up to you wheter you want to look it up or not. If you wanna do that, then do that and just leave me out of it.  I believe what I believe and you believe what you want to.  Also, isn't it wrong to force your beliefs on us as well? Just because one person says its wrong (like it does indeed says in the bible) dosen't mean that we have to bash him for it. Also, for a little bit of proof, ( its just a little fact from the bible, take it as it is) Sodom and Gomorrah were two cities that were destroyed because of the homosexuality and sin that ran rampant in it.  Why? Because the original plan by God was that aman and a woman meet and produce children. Thats another thing that i noticed. Why can't gay couples have children naturally like a straight couple can? Just a few points. No need to bash me.

I'm a straight Christian girl. Honestly, if you wanna be gay, lesbian, bi or whatever , then that is your business. I mind my business and you mind yours. What you do in your bedroom is between you, your partner, and God.

You're welcome. And thank you for accepting my opinion. I see what you are saying better now, so thank you. And I understand. And sometimes when we're mad, it's sort of hard to think straight. I get that.

When I saw this article on the front page, I knew there had to be all kinds of arguing and debating going on, and out of curiosity I checked it out.

Turns out I was right.

Now I'm a Christian, and I've gone to Christian schools all my life thus far.  And I've been shown the passages and told that homosexuality is a sin.  Granted, I don't believe that, but I know the Biblical support.

But if I did think it was amoral, I'd like to think I'd realize that the Bible also tells us to forgive one another.  Who am I to judge someone else's sin when I myself am sinful?  And by making gay marriage illegal, isn't that just supporting adultery, another sin altogether?

Frankly, the Declaration of Independence promises every citizen life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Shouldn't that include a man that loves another man or a woman that loves another woman?  Even if you don't agree with it ethically, legally preventing it is absurd, the most blatant of infringing legislation.

This shouldn't even be a debate.  It should be legal.  If you don't agree with it, just don't agree with it.  Don't actively try to ruin the chances of happy marriages.

I get widely criticized at school and abroad for believing what I do, but last time I checked I thought this country was supposed to have equal rights for all, and Christians were supposed to be loving.

TheKing,

I really appreciate you saying that. I agree that this comment section has gotten out of hand. We need to respect each other.

SamanthaC,

I definitely see your point here. We don't all have to agree, but c'mon people, can we at least RESPECT and TOLERATE each other????

Leviticus,

All I am going to ask of you is to please be respectful of the opinions and emotions of others. Being close-minded will only get you so far.

I very much respect your opinion and agree that it is not very fair to tell someone they will burn, but I do feel the need to voice my disagreement with something else you have said. By some, such as myself, God is believed to be Divine Love, which is something that lives and thrives in us all, connecting every being--no matter their gender, religion, beliefs, etc, etc.

You have a very good point. It is great to show your opinion, but both sides of the argument need to come to a place of mutual understanding...or we will, in fact, get nowhere with it.

Though i must say, that i absolutely agree completely, i also have to disagree. By choosing one side and representing it, you're not seeing it both your and their point of views. Certaintly, no one has the right to tell someone to confrom to a cookie cutter idea of a person. In this ever enterprising world where more and more people are  increasingly open about who they are truly are, people have become defensive. So, by becoming angry you're the same as the people apozing your point of view. Because if neither side is willing to understand the other, than there is just bigoted hate.

I appreciate this article, because the author had the guts to speak her mind. Even though I don't agree with what she wrote, I respect her opinion. I also think everyone else should, because if we can't agree to disagree, we have gotten ourselves nowhere.

i give all readers of this article a hobson's choice would you rather be verbally abused or would you rather have the choice to speak out against discrimination. i'm not saying that being gay,les or bi is right. i'm simply saying that the first step to stop discrimination is to stop being one sided, discrimination does not only apply to gays, les or bi it apply to all ppl that have been hated, abused or wrongly judged for something that they believe in or said. i was just wondering how many ppl that commented want to stop discrimination? if you really wanna stop it the first step is to stop yourself from shutting what someone else expressed out of your mind, out of your ears, out of your one-sided perspective. the second step is to listen to others and give them the permission to express themselves. the first step is to stop yourself from shutting what someone else expressed out of your mind

I personally do not agree with you, but I have come to a point where I'm completely confused. My little sister recently told me that shes not sure if shes bi. Now the bible says its wrong. But this is my sister here. Should I tell her she'll burn in hell or tell her to be herself? Should I be a good Christain or a good sister? SO on your article I'm stumped.
