I Am Offended

I am offended.

I can't pray in public

I can't sing "Joy to the World"

I can't set up a nativity scene in my front yard-

I'm "Shoving Religion" down "people's" throats.

I am offended.

Everyone speaks during the "moment of silence"

No one says the Pledge of Allegiance.

It's ok to drop the "F" bomb

But if I bring my Bible to school I'M crazy?

I am offended

Atheists can publicly denounce GOD ALMIGHTY

Catholics can cross themselves

But BAPTISTS are fanatics?

I am offended.

Liars have senate seats

Fools represent our nation

PRAYER was taken out of school

and no one has protested YET?

STAND UP, AMERICA!!

Honestly, this is one of the most offensive articles I've ever read. First of all, if you want to pray, GO AHEAD. I'm a Muslim , my prayer involves prostrations and kneeling, BUT I STILL DO IT. And no-one says antyhing. Even if they did, I wouldn't care. That's part of self-confidence. Secondly, just 'cause you're sensitive about bringing the Bible to school doesn't mean that you're not allowed.

The persecution complex is really old. Really, really old.
You can pray and sing praises in public.
You can even do so at school, granted it's not led by faculty.
I see it every Thursday at Christian club meetings.
Why are you offended that other's do not share your beliefs? Offended that I believe I can drop the F bomb, that I have the freedom to not be silent, and that I refuse to say "Under God" as I do not believe in one?

I totally agree with you. I couldnt have said it better. I respect everyone and their beleifs but im a stron believer of seperation of education and religion. I actually read a book about the topic recently: Me, Evolution, and Other Freaks of Nature. It's actually pretty good.

I'm a Christian too, but I do respect anyone who isn't. We all have a right to choose our own beliefs. Still, being a Christian like I said, I get where you're coming from. It usually feels like they want to take God out of everything.

The Constitution separates church and state. It's the basic right of EVERYONE to believe in what they believe and not have your God forced upon them.

Correction: you as a student CAN talk about your faith in school. If you're getting censored for that, plead your case. Everyone has the right to express their religious beleifs. As for you saying you can't pray in school, if you're refering to how public schools don't have prayer time, well, I think that's fair. You know, my grandma always says that it doesn't make sense for non-believers to celebrate CHRISTmas...after all, it is celebrating Christ 's birth! Why do they put up a christmas tree and get/give gifts if they don't believe?? It's like me celebrating Hanukah just so I can light the candles!! I don't believe ppl should celebrate CHRISTmas if they don't believe in the meaning behind it. Just my opinion:)
