I Met Myself the Other Day
I met myself the other day
in a back row musty pew
her difference, trying to downplay
aiming so hard to please Yahweh
herself she does not value
our thoughts were all in disarray
she spoke some words we’ll never say
it’s already too snafu
to have to deal with ill hearsay
it is hard but there is no way
around the ugly issue
because it’s not safe to covey
people filed through the doorway
she told me it was my cue
for me to quickly slip away
I know somehow she’ll be okay
‘cause her faith isn’t askew
all we know is how to obey
we’ll both be back come next Sunday
