I lay there
in the crisp summer night.
Watching the glowing
white lights
In the sea black emptiness.
Remembering the many times
my youthful eyes had set upon
this vast heavenly universe.
What lays before me is as
unknown to me as if your
burning white light is still
there or just an unmarked path
On a route that we may never cross
or set eyes forth.
All I know is this -
I love gazing into your lights and
I always know - no matter how dark
the ebony sea is.
Is that your eyes still shine down
Hope.
