You marched into my life
bold
brazen
beautiful.
You took without giving
selfish
savage
seductive.
I gave without thinking
foolish
feverish
fascinated.
I had dreams, but you took those, too
boasting
bitter
brutal.
Then I saw, and pushed you away
shocked
scarred
safe.
Now I look back, and feel only pity
forgetting
forgiving
free.
