We clasp hands and take
the first steps through it all
We’ve lost another by
lack of faith and now we take the fall
but we don’t know what we have lost
The fog keeps our thoughts
distant and our minds in repose
The dim light besets our
happiness, but that is how life goes
but we realize something is wrong
The trees sway and the waters
part to show us the light
Cold eyes, and cold hearts
to see the humbling sight
but you are no longer in our life
for you are gone and there is
naught we can do
but kneel at your tombstone
and think contritely of you
but I still desire to ask, “where do we go from here”
