Bliss

Why can't I find words for something simple as this?
All I know is I was sunken deep into bliss.

One of your arms was wrapped around my shoulders
and our hearts were pounding like smashing boulders.

You whispered consolations as I murmured my pain.
I sucked in deep shaky breaths while trying to stay sane.

My eyes fluttered close as cheek pressed into cheek.
The whole time I was thinking 'I could stay like this all week'

Your fingers stroked my arm and ran through my hair.
It really seemed like we were the perfect pair.

An unbreakable bond was forming right between us
And when our eyes met, I felt both love and lust

Then what felt like years later I had to break away.
I was already feeling colder, but I knew I'd be okay.
