I wish somebody told me
that dreams don't all come true
that Cinderella's just a name
for wishes in the blue
I wish somebody told me
that life hands onions more
than lemons to its people
which are useless to the core
I wish somebody told me
that heart scars never heal
that time is not a remedy
just a scab for what you feel
I wish somebody told me
how stupid I could be
instead of spouting words
like no one's a better me
I wish somebody told me
falling in love's a risk
'cause who knows if they'll catch you
or maybe you will miss
I wish somebody told me
life's harder than it looks
that growing up is full
of tears and high school books
I wish somebody told me
all this before I'd grown
but it's too late for wishes
'cause now I already know
that dreams don't all come true
that Cinderella's just a name
for wishes in the blue
I wish somebody told me
that life hands onions more
than lemons to its people
which are useless to the core
I wish somebody told me
that heart scars never heal
that time is not a remedy
just a scab for what you feel
