If I Were Gone?

If I didn’t show up at school
Would anyone notice my absence?
Would anyone care?

If one week went by
Would anyone think something was wrong?
Would anyone worry that I was gone?

Would my friends come asking if I were okay?
Would they be sad about what I did?
Would they care anyway?

Would they cry and miss me?
Say they wish I was here?
Or was I such a bad friend that they don’t even care?

Would the people who were mean to me
Notice I wasn’t there?
Would they wonder where I was?
Would they really even care?

Would they think about what they did wrong to me?
Or about what they said?
Would they wish that they’d been nicer?
Would they wonder if it was their fault I was dead?
