Waking up
Driving to school
Getting rose after rose
Hearing bell after bell

I must save her

I walk towards her
HER, not IT
She’s drenched
She’s wet
She’s ashamed
I look in her eyes
I see her pain
I know what she’s about to do

A truck is coming
She stares and smiles
She takes the first dreaded step

I take a breath
I take THE last breath
I take THE step.

The horn blares
The lights burst
The screams shout

I push
She’s free
