Theme for English 8

The instructor said,
Go home and write
a page tonight.
And let that page come out of you—
Then, it will be true.

I am Sophie, age 13 born in Detroit,
where parts of my heart still dwell. I felt out of place when I left,
Like that feeling you get when a part of you
is missing.
I love the ocean, its mystical waves
can set your mind free. Just like the things you sometime
dream about at night.
Art is the thing that best represents my personality.
It helps me express what is inside of me.
When I get older I will be a politician, and help change our society.
I believe that when you give you shall receive,
and that what you give will be the equality of what
you wish you wish to be.
We are all a link of a chain, that is as long as ever could be.
Our world is like a sunset, it is full of different colors and styles.
If I could live for only one minute, when the final tip of the sun fades away
is the one I would choose it to be.
My final thought is that
If there was any person I could choose to be,
the only person I would choose
is me.
