What is impossible with man is possible with God. Luke 18:27

We sat on my porch
on a warm evening in June.
The lightning bugs danced their carefree dance, lit only by the quarter moon.

We looked up at the dark sky,
brightened by twinkly stars.
Your fingers twirl my curly hair, while my mind travels off far.

Sometimes I wish I were Wendy
being taken to Neverland.
Flying away from this worlds troubles sounds like an excellent plan.

The crickets are chirping
and my porch is creaking.
All the sounds invade my wandering fantasy I should focus on what you’re speaking.

It ‘s time to say goodnight
and you kiss me on the cheek.
My face stays warm even after you’ve gone, after you wished me to dream dreams so sweet.

I don’t mind if this
is just a summer thing,
it’s better if this romance is brief I’m not ready to lose my wings.
