With my mind on remembrance
It starts with ticket stubs at the entrance
The thought of being with family makes me smile
So why not think about it once and awhile
We walk along the aroma filled path
It brings back memories that make me laugh

Deliberately looking left, then right
In hopes we’ll find a mouthwatering bite
Appetizing junk food everywhere we look
The image captured in my mind like a scrapbook
Decisions, decisions we never know
Then at last we find the fried dough

Chewing the first powdery mouthful
Is as delectable as root beer by the cupful
Stands of crafted goods are scattered
Like the strands of onion about to be battered
Cones topped with pink fluffy clouds
Are being devoured by the hungry crowds

We take are normal routes
Afterwards knowing there’s poop on our boots
Watching smelly swinging tails
And checking out pumpkins rated by scales
Making our way back to the car
We hear the echos of men playing guitar

Families are looking all around
As the leaves are continuously falling on the ground
There’s no cherished time to waste
These memories are part of the sweet taste
Please don’t hurry, please don’t rush
Please, just let me have one more sip of this tasty slush
