Christmastime
The trees
Covered in lights
Like the ones
That hang around
My bedroom
I glance over
To the tv
The one where we
Would watch movies
And curl up next
To the fire
Why does it always
Feel like this?
Like a cold fist
Grabbing the world
A hard cold fist
And squeezing the
Life out of it
Like how you left
Me that winter night
Snow falling
Saying that
We’re through
The tears on my
Cheeks freezing
In the cold
Into little
Frozen droplets
I would give
Anything for
One more
Movie
One more
Fire
One more
Day
Before you left
And as I look
Up at the twinkling
Lights hanging
Happily around
The perimeter of
My room I think
They will sparkle
And dance
And enjoy the
Holidays
As will you
But my heart
At Christmastime
Will never again
