The Gray Area
We often think of life
As black white and color
But what about the gray area?
What about the wonderful shadows
Instead of the blots of ink and snow?
What about the stone and the concrete
Instead of the pinks and blues and reds?
What about the monotone scenes
Instead of living in a world of emotions?
What about the world of still
Instead of one that keeps moving?
The gray area allows freedom
The gray area allows the middle
The gray area allows you to be not okay
It allows you to be upset but not sad
It allows you to be miffed but not angry
It allows you to be light but not happy
It allows you to be alone but not secluded
The gray area allows the middle
So when you think of life
Do you think of it as blacks and whites and colors?
Or do you think of it as a gray area?

I wanted to highlight how life isn’t always “black and white” but it’s not always full of color. It can be trying but not hard, it can be bright without being happy, it can be down without being sad. Life doesn’t always deal in absolutes.
