Summer
Asleep---- encased in a blanket of dreams,
Awakened by warm summer breezes.
Sunbursts emerge from green embraces.
Arms outstretched to soak in rays of life,
Quietly unfurling as sunset orange.
Sleep returns with the next cold, chill.
Frost-covered green dulls to brittle-brown.
The sunset gone,
Waiting for a hint of summer
To renew the breath of life.
