Endless Cries

They don’t listen to your voice.
They don’t listen to the din.
They only listen to the blood pouring from your skin.
They don’t hear the cries for help.
They don’t hear the tears fall down.
They only hear the ambulance driving through the town.
They don’t hear the sound of laughter.
They don’t hear your gentle song.
All you have to do is die for them to sing along.
Every hug, every wave,
Every breath, every sigh.
Nothing is ever heard
Until you say goodbye.
