Her eyes are so dark
Her heart is so cold
Those eyes were once bright
And her heart made of gold
But the sweater she wore
Wasn’t able to hide
The bruises she sported
The tears she cried
No one dared to ask
She was totally fine
‘Till her secrets were spilled
Then her worlds intertwined
The barrier to the truth
That she’d built so tall
Was crumbling down
And was ready to fall
Her life was now better
But worse all the same
Would she find help
In life’s cruel game?
Something gave way to the passage
The bright passage of light
And in the quickest instant
She found that her life was all right
So with all now restored
Her happy ending can be
Let her golden heart
And bright eyes shine on me.
