Summer's breeze lifts the hair
Off your shoulders
The lengthening shadows
Cast your figure across the lawn
Your little fingers grasp the
Last dandelion
The last dandelion you will blow the seeds from
Before they take you away
Dancing leaves flit over the grass
Its cool texture embraces you
And the stars begin to peek
Your last night to gaze
Before they take you away
You look up and smile at me
Your rosy cheeks, blue eyes, and curly hair
I hold your hand tighter and I hear you sigh
I will not let them take
You away
Off your shoulders
The lengthening shadows
Cast your figure across the lawn
Your little fingers grasp the
Last dandelion
The last dandelion you will blow the seeds from
Before they take you away
Dancing leaves flit over the grass
Its cool texture embraces you
And the stars begin to peek
Your last night to gaze
Before they take you away
You look up and smile at me
Your rosy cheeks, blue eyes, and curly hair
I hold your hand tighter and I hear you sigh
I will not let them take
You away
