I See You Now, and You Haven't Broken Me

Him-
With my timid glances my eyes found the mirage;
Gentle hands caressing giggling gullible girls,
Pale eyes of blue lurking above a slight smile.
The closer I got the more the illusion faded off,
Exposing the scorching asphalt beneath the cool puddles.
Your coarse hands seized hold of my vulnerable state,
Like a snake coiling tight around small and meager prey.
Polluted eyes of blackened oil bubbled over with power,
As I gazed impotently from above at a scene of disarray.
For two years my soul still lay paralyzed in the leaves ,
As my body blindly fell to self-punitive acts never earned.
The door opens and truths fall from my lips like bombs,
Hitting the bridge of blame that long ago should have burned.
It took so long to identify the filthy disgusting reflection I saw,
As my scar ridden eyes distorted lines between false and true,
As it turns out, the filthy, vile, disgusting, evil one is not me,
But rather, the only guilty one is you.
So good riddance to the memory I foolishly left on play,
Your power will dictate my actions not another day.
My life is my own and my own it will always stay.
You forced me to breathe you in,
Now I choose to exhale and breathe you away.
