Prayer for the Supposedly Sane

More by this author
For a minute
Pick my feet up
Up over my head
Through my neck
And kick them off into the
Stars

Take my arms
Fling them through my stomach
Pull them out
Touch my toes
And use them to spin the
Planets

Wring my neck
To the side
Twist it off
Throw it to the depths of the universe
And learn what really causes
Black holes

Push my eyes back
Through my brain
Use what’s left of me as a bat
Wack them off through the atmosphere
And towards the oblivion as glistening
Comets

Then take my heart
And just slide through one of the orifices
Newly made
Cradle it in your arms
While the rest withers in the dirt
Because the rest just takes up space
But the heart
The heart I can feed to those in need
And that it may give them a new day, I pray
Like the Sun.
