I am sitting with a cat
This cat is not my own
But I know this cat
This cat is a big gray tom
I am sitting with a cat
This cat and I do not speak
I see him watch and listen
I see he has stories to tell
I'm certain that he could
But this cat and I do not speak.
This cat and I are on a porch
I see that he has burrs
I see his tail flicker
Like a candle's flame
This cat and I are on a porch
This cat and I do not touch
This cat sits near me
I only see him on the rail
This cat and I do not touch
But I'm certain that we love.
This cat is not my own
But I know this cat
This cat is a big gray tom
I am sitting with a cat
This cat and I do not speak
I see him watch and listen
I see he has stories to tell
I'm certain that he could
But this cat and I do not speak.
This cat and I are on a porch
I see that he has burrs
I see his tail flicker
Like a candle's flame
This cat and I are on a porch
This cat and I do not touch
This cat sits near me
I only see him on the rail
This cat and I do not touch
But I'm certain that we love.
