The Effort

The damage is done, all the words are said
Things are different now, but our friendships not dead
It’ll take some work that much I know
And it will take some time for my heart to grow
I don’t want anger or jealousy, disappointment or sadness
What I want is you in my life, even if it’s just as friends
I still say you were scared that day when you turned and ran
‘You’re and important friend’ that’s what you told me
I want to believe that’s true, but the efforts not there
So here I am
