Dear Sterotype

Dear Stereotype

I am a young woman who is going to win every case

when I become a lawyer like blacks won the right for freedom

I am helpful and intelligent like the dictionary

I am more than you think I am and make me out to be

I am not the type of person who runs away like a dog

running from thunder

Who are you to determine what my life will be like

What gives you the right to say I can’t make it

Who told you that’s how my life will be

Who says I don’t have a voice

I decide what my life will be like

I can and will make it

My life will be the I want my life to be

I will not be a shadow only seen not heard

You are nothing more than a weed ugly and unwanted

You are nothing but a sentence that can be rewritten

You are not me because I am a human being

Sincerely
