Morning Thoughts

you put a smile on my face
whenever you were around
your words brought me comfort
whenever i felt down

the kindness in your voice
made me feel everything was ok
your fingers intertwined with mine
made my deepest fears go away

but that was then and this is now
you've moved on and i've grown up
although sometimes i still think about you
while staring into my empty cup
