Love Deferred
It comes creeping in.
So softly you don't realize it's there,
Attaching, like a silent parasite.
Life remains the same,
Days pass in a steady blur or memories made.
You think nothing's changed.
You think you are fine, but when the time comes to step out, you can't.
The lechery of your silent sin has sucked your soul dry.
You want to love, but you know you can't.
Until your heart has healed, you need to stay away.
But, don't give up. Someday you will take that step.
Just not this time.
