1
She crawls around her living room floor
Curiously inspecting all of the aspects of life
Gaining knowledge that will help her live
Learning things she didn’t know existed.
2
She walks around her backyard
Watching nature at its peak
Yearning to play with the little bunny rabbit by the tree
Letting the fresh air lift her spirits up
5
She sits by her window and looks up at the sky
Wishing for her dreams to come true
Wanting the stories of Princes and Princesses to come alive
Waiting for the stars to sing her to sleep
7
She runs around her playground with a group of friends
Allowing the energy to burn out of her
Chasing the little boy who gave her a Daisy
Hoping to have gained a new best friend
10
She sneaks behind her tower at her laser tag arena
Having a world’s worth of fun at Daisy boy’s birthday party
Loving life and everything that comes along with it
Enjoying the days of her childhood
11
She crouches down to her locker and waits
Trying not to forget her schedule or combination
Working the hallways of a new school into her mind
Hoping that her best friend, that her Daisy boy, would come and find her
13
She dances at her first dance with all of her best girl friends
Doing her best to remember that she can’t make a fool of herself
Acting like she knows exactly how to dance
Wondering if Daisy boy will show up and see her in the dress that he liked
14
She glances down her long hallway of her high school
Remembering yet another set of classes and faces
Thinking about walking down that long passage by herself, without her Daisy boy
Hoping with all of her heart that she won’t have to
15
She stares at her paper in front of her eyes
Reading the words over and over again because she can’t quite comprehend them
Realizing that her Daisy boy isn’t hers anymore and that she has to share him
Trying to get him out of her heart so she can finish her work
16
She looks up into the face of her Daisy boy who had abandoned her for another
Waiting for the apology that was to come
Reading into all of his facial expressions
Watching him nervously search for the right words
Wondering, suddenly, why her Daisy boy was so stressed out
Hoping that it wasn’t her fault
Searching for a way to comfort him
Speaking, Daisy boy told her he was sorry
Blushing, he told her that he shouldn’t have left her
Acting strange, he told her that he was stupid, and that he missed her
Realizing, finally, what was going on, she told him she was sorry too
Blushing, as well, from the things that he was babbling about, she told him to stop talking
Quieting her Daisy boy, her best friend, before he could say something he didn’t want to
Staring at each other, they both spoke
Muting their tones so that no one else could hear
Blushing at the intensity of their gaze
“I love you.”
