It comes so strong
Roaring like a lion
and frightening the creatures of the woods
while its bitter cold rushes about you
and wraps you up in a blanket
its fierce white powder
soars from the sky
and holds captive its prisoners.
It goes out so soft
innocent like a lamb
when our friend the Sun
comes out from behind its protector of clouds
and saves us from its chilled grasps
then turns on the heating stove of the Earth.
