Why can't I see it
does it hide from me
or is it just not true
did they lie from the start
they say it just to say it
to try to make me feel good
or just to hurt me
to see what I'll do
it can't be true no way
I will not believe it
all I see and will see
is a great disappointment
I can't stand to look
afraid to see it
to see it staring back at me
and not see me
it s not me and never will be me
when I look at the person
staring back at me
