I trusted you,

Even though you were controlling me,
Like a puppet on strings.
I believed you,
When you swore you’d never hurt me again.
But you did, over and over.
Every slap was a cry out for help.
Every harsh word,
Every broken promise,
Just another wasted moment with you.
