Moving On

The mocking bird
Just won’t go away
Why can’t it be easy
Just fly away
Stop replaying memories
Get off my shoulder
I want to move on
But it’s there like a boulder
Always reminding me,
Of what I had
Good or bad
I don’t want the bird
But something brings it back
Some memories fade,
Others stand strong
Maybe it’s a sign,
Maybe I was wrong
Why can’t this bird just go away,
Come again another day
