last night i lay in bed, looking up at the stars and i thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling?

I walk alone.
Everyone has gone
and left me.
When will my time also come?

I pass my old home,
remember the cracked leather
of the sofa
and the way my cockier spaniel
used to curl up at my feet.

Everywhere,
the colors I cannot
take my eyes away from
for they are painful reminders
of my previous life

I walk past the plowed fields
the empty corn stands shivering
and the ghost flowers not rule
the forgotten domain

I stand here
feel the turning earth
below me,
I realize
my time has come.

I was alone.
I walked alone.
while I raise my wings
and take off into the night,
I silently say goodbye.

They change every day. Today's is this: "But sometimes the sun has been up for a long time and we just refuse to open the curtains." ~the woman I met on the street that one time.

This is really awesome, great use of imagery. I loved it! :)

I loved the images - "ghost flowers" and "plowed fields" and "cracked leather."

It's really nice. To me, it's about someone who's going to die, and they're saying goodbye to everything they used to know.

Write what you know, and dream of. - Jane Austen
People throw rocks at things that shine - Taylor Swift
Just Keep Swimming! Just Keep Swimming! - Ellen DeGengeres as Dory

This is something VERY heartfelt! I love when writers put thier raw emotions into their work, it gives great insite into the people they are. I really really love this poem, it not only shows pain that you or your character has endured, but it also shows the happy times you / they remember from a long time ago, and that it's time to let things go, it's so beautiful and people can relate! Thanks for sharing and letting me read it! :D

"A guy walks up to me and asks 'What's Punk?'. So I kick over a garbage can and say 'That's punk!'. So he kicks over a garbage can and says 'That's Punk'?, and I say 'No that's trendy'!"- Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day

Wow, this was really emotional! It felt like a ghost's perspective and that was really unique and engaging as a reader.

"This one's for the girls who have ever had a broken heart, who have wished upon a shooting star, you're beautiful the way you are..."
-Martina McBride

Wow!!! Great poem!!! It is very much a deep poem, and you can get a feel for the person walking through the "forgotten domain". Your imagery is fantastic! Something you can do in the future is even bring in your other senses like the sense of smell and how the air tastes...

This poem is very well written!! :) If you could, please check a poem of mine and give me your opinion... It's called "Shall I compare our love to an ocean?"
