Will We Regret It?

Summer is here now we're all gonna die
Snails on metal will sizzle and fry
Eggs on the pavement are medium boiled
Your lightly tanned skin is reddened and spoiled
You dry to a crisp in the midsummer heat
Now everything is burnt, what are you gonna eat?
Your dogs aren't too happy about their namesake dog days
Hair starts to wilt and eyes start to glaze
As we melt into puddles from the killer sun's ray.
The taps are all empty, the dams are dried up
Your monthly water fills just half a cup
The city is silent, half the people are dead
The dreaded Bog Monster's died under your bed

The doctors are crawling half-dead through the streets
The easiest suicide is eating sweets
Not a cloud in the sky for over 5 years
I told you global warming was a bad idea
But nobody listened and now they're all dead
We've eaten our last crust of vulture-bone bread.

I hear across the sea they're drowning in water
What did we do to nature to deserve such mindless slaughter
Was it killing her kids and burning their houses
When she even let us keep a dog and some horses
Did we poison her seas or slowly murder the bees
Oh Mother Nature, please! We're dying over here of thirst and disease!
We're sorry we melted your ice and fracked the Karoo,
Filled your rivers with smelly brown poo,
Painted the sky with black sooty smoke,
Even sorry we slaughtered so many dodos!

If we have to we'll build a giant sign out of human bones,
Haul by human muscle 20-million ton stones, through deadly heat and cold.
The sign will say: "We're sorry Mother Nature and we'll help to save the world!"
