Melody of My Heart

My fingers skim over the keys
Typing out a beautiful melody
Such a refreshing sound,
A harmony with no bounds

I let my fingers fly
Across the keys, low to high
I smile and laugh, free as a bird
The greatest joy to be heard

Then faster and faster, the melody runs
Playing out my emotions
And then eventually it starts to slow
A calming wave after a heavy crescendo

My fingers have a will of their own
My mind is just wandering along
Fueled by my feelings
The song goes on without meaning

Fast and slow
High and low
With no ending and no start
I’m just playing the melody of my heart
