the rain kissed my eyelids,
and stumbled down across
my cheeks,
only to be caught
by the softness of your lips

I trembled lightly
as the sun's feet walked upon
my skin,
and your fingertips slid elegantly
down my chin

I traced your scars
with a smile,
counted the rare times your eyes
blinked,
while your fingers with mine
were always entwined

I saw the teeth underneath
your beautiful smile shine,
as I failed silencing the silence
around us,
that played "I love you" all the time.
