It's just so peculiar
How I see my same brown eyes
Whenever I look at you
Maybe I'm a rose and you're a tulip
The same bees come buzz and titter
Around our separate gardens
In the backyard
A tree grows
Strong bark, gentle leaves
Eventually, the sun sets
Somehow, our tree still grows
Initials etched inside it forever.
