A Poet

I tried to be a poet
Writing my feelings down, word for word, trying to rhyme them all
" You're very good at it" they all say
I tried to be a poet

I wrote lines of words and lines of words
I tried to be Edgar Allen Poe, a writer
I tried to be a hero
Someone to be looked up to, an Icon
I tried to be a poet

I realized that imagination is a part of everything, even being a poet
I tried to write a fantasy
I tried to be a poet

I wrote all my thoughts
I wrote all my secrets
I wrote all my life
I am a poet
