Osmosis

i stare
down at the puddles
rippling circles echoing
against each other
to each his own

churning, growing
with each
new addition, edition
transforming into
an ocean at my feet

stealing themselves
from the clouds
taking color from the concrete
gray and bleak

i focus
learning how to
be the sea myself
when i hear a splash andn look up
to see someone
watching the same puddles
as unlike the molecules
as
i
am.
