I wish i had elephant skin
placed around my heart
protecting me from bullets
protecting me from arrows
keeping my blood inside my veins
my heart inside my chest
I have the time
just not the patience
I wish I had elephant skin
placed around my heart
that way
I could stay sane
in the insaneness
complete in the incompleteness
that way i could stay

regan, i enjoyed your poem very much. i especially love LOVE the picture that goes with it. i like the last part about "staying sane in the insaness." if i could choose anything to fix, id just change the ME to me... i feel a little yelled at.
