Watching the days pass by
I lose my mind
Waiting for that bite
Waiting for that deer to walk by
So I may set
Or shoot
So the fish might begin his fatal dance
So I may
Have dinner
So the deer might bound away
Terror, and the last breath of life, in her eyes
So I may have supper
And so I may die
To feed the fish and fawn
Of which I fed so often
Livin’ ain’t easy
But someone has to do it
I lose my mind
Waiting for that bite
Waiting for that deer to walk by
So I may set
Or shoot
So the fish might begin his fatal dance
So I may
Have dinner
So the deer might bound away
Terror, and the last breath of life, in her eyes
So I may have supper
And so I may die
To feed the fish and fawn
Of which I fed so often
Livin’ ain’t easy
But someone has to do it
