Socially Accepted

That's not socially accepted they would say
I'll still be who I want, be that as it may
I'm not going to wear what they tell me to
I don't care if Crocs are a frowned upon shoe
My face isn't perfect but it's surely mine
If they don't like me who cares I can still shine
I don't need a prom date or a valentine
I have my own style that is completely mine
All people can decide whatever they want
They can think i am being too mean or too blunt
I'll continue to act as I always do
I can blast my music the whole city through
I will say as I want and do as I please
Even if they will not bless me whenever I sneeze
Let my style be and I'll leave yours alone
I'll always hang out in my own little zone
And even if it's not socially accepted
Who I am will never be interrupted

Loved this. Well written and spoken in true writer's voice. Strong all the way through. A great message of begin who you are. Thanks for making this more of a celebration of yourself and who you are and less of an angry rant against being part of the "in crowd." It gives it a nice uplifting feel that shows that you rose above being popular to just be you. Impacting message, wonderful writing. 5 stars.
