i'd fly away
to a place
that i feel safe

i'd be bright and blue
and i'd sing all the songs i cannot

if i were a bird
i'd fly to heaven and back
and down to hell
to see my long-gone family

i'd be small and light
light as feathers that can drift anywhere

if i were a bird
i'd see the bad people
and the scary people
and just fly away

i'd be strong and sturdy
and i'd be able
to fly away
from all the evils in the world.
