Stupidity is my name

We grew up together,

Chased tag, laughed
But I cried, I lost
Too slow, jealousy

Stupidity groaned
Wanted all, one queen
One smile.
Humble let go, gave me all
Always, every time.
Greed.

Stupidity had another name
When I called Humble “stupid”
When you shied away
But you still let me in
Because Stupidity begged
And never gave back.
Hypocrisy.
I’m sorry.

Fourteen years
Five of these, spared of Stupidity.
Separated for better, from stubborn me.
When Stupidity found others
And let go, closed the door
Lights out on friendship with Humble.
