Lying on the concrete porch staring at the clouds go by.
Night <my cat> purring repeatedly as I pet his head.
I sit up.
The tree’s sway back and forth, like a calm wave.
The wind brushes against my skin,
Each time sending a chill.
First one drop,
Then another.
More start falling to their fate.
Each rain drop that lands on my skin fells like a cool kiss.
It’s as like all my cares are being washed away.
It begins to pour harder.
After just a few minutes I’m already soaked with the droplets of water.
I pick Night up and hold him close,
And open the screen door to the dryness of my home,
Wishing that I could stay outside just a while longer.
