Hester, My Dear

Hester, my dear, you smolder.
Bright, Scarlet embers glow.
But you comprise your posture,
Stand up against all foe.

“Shameful, Hester,” Guilt declares,
“Why betray confidence?
You have suffered and been scorned,
Gone is all faithfulness.”

Reconcile your morals, dear,
From charity comes good.
Small Elf skips beside you, and
Penance is understood.

Hester, he has been waiting.
Will the secret be told?
Love should conquer sin, my dear.
Tell before I’m too old.

Death reaches out to their hands,
Goodbye lasts forever.
Perhaps the time has come to,
Rest and be a mother.

Hester, you were a victim.
Dear, you were a sinner.
Hester, you were an object.
Dear, you are a winner.

I LOVE your last verse! Great job! I love poems like these, simple, with a pretty clear rhyme scheme..I could go on and on. I really liked it though!
