I rest inside my slender box.
Abiding my time until it opens once more.
The hinges creak and light rushes in.
Obtuse faces gaze at me grinning.
My haunting melody begins.
Forcing my body to stir.
I twist and contort.
Trapped by the small circumference of my stage.
The music ends.
Jarring me into paralysis once more.
The lid closes engulfing me in darkness.
‘Till I am brought out to amuse once more.
