What is beauty exactly? Who can appear beautiful and also be beautiful? To be completely beautiful you’d have to be perfect, and that’s impossible for humans. So, we can’t really accomplish whole beauty, can we? We can appear to be beautiful. But that doesn’t mean we really are, inside. We can be one or the other, but not both. Is there such a thing as being completely beautiful? We haven’t even seen it, because none of us can be it. So we assume. We pretend that, oh, he or she might meet our impossible standards, knowing all the while that no one really will. We want that impossible beauty, hoping for it, brushing away anyone that doesn’t have the possibility to ever have it.
What happens then, we realize one time or another, that being that we never were or never can be ‘beautiful’ why should we be looking for someone who is? So we settle for something less than that, so much less. Knowing, subconsciously, that we deserve that idea of impossible beauty because, whether we won’t admit it or not, we all want that something we will never be about to have. And for most of us, that is impossible beauty.
