Wait... That Was Due TODAY?!

If I could turn back time

Here is what I would do

I would have written this project

Long before it was due

I’d run straight home to my computer

And be sure that it was done

But here I am now typing

When I realized I had none

Of the words and lines that create

This poem with no tune

My effort proceeds to disintegrate

As we pass on into June

Hopefully I’ve learned my lesson

So my grades won’t need to fry

But if you'd prefer an honest confession

My excuses are running dry
